A performance by Laura Stinger performed with Gina Therese
Resident artist Laura Stinger performs a work of sound, text and movement, treating every object and body in PAM as an unknown and infinitely changing substance. Movement is initiated by tapping into internal glands, sourcing intuition on a cellular level that opens up channels of communication between people, rocks, and plants. A feral physicality outside of rational thought emerges: a walk in the wilds of the forest just beyond our suburban minds.
Laura Stinger makes work in performance and sculpture that seeks to channel and trouble the feminized body and enter into a non-rational, cellular space. Her work challenges representation through queer forms of embodiment that posit the body as a radical and charged site. Laura has presented work at dixon place, nyc; PS122 nyc; pieter space, los angles; coaxial gallery, los angeles; elephant gallery, los angeles; and patravadi theater, bangkok among others.
